
Ingredients:
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1½ tsp salt
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 tsp instant yeast
- 1½ cups warm water
Instructions:
- Mix the Dough
In a large bowl, combine flour, salt, sugar, and yeast. Add warm water and mix with a spoon until a sticky, rough dough forms. Do not knead. - First Rise
Cover the bowl with plastic wrap or a towel. Let the dough rise at room temperature for 1 to 2 hours, until doubled in size and bubbly on top. - Fold & Shape
Lightly flour your hands. Gently fold the dough over itself a few times to release air, then shape into a round loaf. - Second Rest
Place dough on parchment paper, cover loosely, and let rest for 20–30 minutes. - Bake
Preheat oven to 220°C (430°F). Bake for 30–35 minutes until golden and crusty. - Cool
Remove and let cool completely before slicing for best texture.
Tips:
- Dough should be sticky, not dry
- Hot oven gives better crust
- Add herbs, cheese, or olives for flavor variations
