Ingredients
- 1½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup sugar
- ½ cup cocoa powder
- 1 tsp baking soda
- ½ tsp salt
- 2 eggs
- ½ cup vegetable oil
- 1 cup milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup hot water (or hot coffee for deeper flavor)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease a cake pan.
- In a bowl, mix dry ingredients: flour, sugar, cocoa, baking soda, salt.
- Add eggs, oil, milk, and vanilla. Mix until smooth.
- Slowly pour in hot water, mixing gently (batter will be thin).
- Pour into pan and bake 35–40 minutes.
- Let cool, then serve plain or frost as you like.
