- Stir in the shredded cheese, tossing it gently in the dry mix to coat and prevent sinking.
- In another bowl, whisk together the milk, eggs, oil (or melted butter), and sour cream until smooth.
- Combine wet and dry ingredients just until no dry streaks remain—do not overmix. Fold in chives or green onions if using.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top. Optional: Sprinkle a little extra cheese on top.
- Bake for 45–50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean and the top is golden brown.
- Cool in pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack. Slice warm or at room temperature.
