🍞 Homemade Bread (1 kg loaf)

Ingredients

  • 1 kg all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 2 tbsp dry yeast
  • 3 tbsp oil or melted butter
  • 600–650 ml warm water

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let rest 5–10 minutes until foamy.
  2. Add flour, salt, and oil. Mix until a soft dough forms.
  3. Knead 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Cover and let rise 1 hour until doubled in size.
  5. Shape dough and place in a greased loaf pan.
  6. Let rise again 30–40 minutes.
  7. Bake at 180°C / 350°F for 35–40 minutes, until golden and sounds hollow.
  8. Cool before slicing.

Tips

  • Brush top with butter for a soft crust
  • For crusty bread, place a small pan of water in the oven
