No-Bake Banana Cocoa Oat Dessert
Ingredients (makes ~4 servings)
- 2 ripe bananas
- 1 cup (90 g) rolled oats (gluten-free if needed)
- 2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
- Optional add-ins:
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1–2 tbsp nut butter (almond, peanut) for extra creaminess
- A pinch of cinnamon or salt
Instructions
- Mash the bananas
- In a bowl, mash the bananas until smooth and creamy.
- Mix dry ingredients
- Add oats and cocoa powder (and cinnamon or salt if using) to the mashed bananas.
- Mix until fully combined.
- Add extras (optional)
- Stir in vanilla extract or nut butter if you want a richer flavor.
- Shape or bake
- No-bake option: Scoop the mixture into small balls or press into a tray to make bars. Chill in the fridge for at least 30 minutes to firm up.
- Baked option: Preheat oven to 175°C / 350°F. Press mixture into a parchment-lined baking dish. Bake for 12–15 minutes until firm. Let cool.
- Serve
- Enjoy chilled or at room temperature.
- Top with fresh fruit, cacao nibs, or a drizzle of nut butter if desired.
Notes
- Naturally sweetened by the bananas—no sugar needed 🍌
- Oats give a chewy texture; cocoa gives chocolatey richness without butter
- Can be stored in the fridge for 3–4 days
If you want, I can make an even faster 3-ingredient blender version that sets like a mousse in the fridge—super creamy and chocolatey.
Do you want me to do that?
