- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
- In another bowl, mix the milk, egg, melted butter (or oil), and vanilla extract.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined. Do not overmix; small lumps are okay.
- Heat a lightly oiled pan or griddle over medium heat.
- Pour about ¼ cup of batter for each pancake onto the pan.
- Cook for 2–3 minutes until bubbles form on the surface.
- Flip and cook another 1–2 minutes until golden brown.
- Serve warm with your favorite toppings.
