Warm, fluffy biscuits smothered in creamy sausage gravy — this Southern classic is hearty, comforting, and perfect for breakfast or brunch.


📝 Ingredients

🥞 For the Biscuits:

  • 2 cups (250 g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup (115 g) cold butter, cubed
  • ¾ cup (180 ml) cold milk or buttermilk

🥓 For the Sausage Gravy:

  • 1 lb (450 g) breakfast sausage
  • 3 tablespoons flour
  • 2½ cups (600 ml) milk
  • ½ teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper

👩‍🍳 Instructions

1️⃣ Make the Biscuits

Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
Mix flour, baking powder, and salt.
Cut in cold butter until crumbly.
Add milk and mix just until combined.
Roll out, cut into rounds, and bake for 12–15 minutes until golden.


2️⃣ Make the Gravy

Cook sausage in a skillet over medium heat until browned.
Sprinkle flour over the sausage and stir for 1–2 minutes.
Gradually add milk while stirring.
Cook until thick and creamy (about 5–7 minutes).
Season with salt and pepper.


3️⃣ Serve

Split warm biscuits in half and spoon hot sausage gravy generously over the top.
