Glazed Doughnuts 🍩

Ingredients

  • 2¼ tsp active dry yeast
  • ¾ cup warm milk
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tbsp melted butter
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 2½ cups all-purpose flour
  • Oil for frying

Glaze

  • 1½ cups powdered sugar
  • 2–3 tbsp milk
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Mix warm milk, yeast, and 1 tbsp sugar. Rest 5–10 min until foamy.
  2. Add remaining sugar, egg, butter, salt, and flour. Knead until soft.
  3. Cover and let rise 1–1½ hours until doubled.
  4. Roll dough to 1 cm thickness. Cut doughnuts.
  5. Let rest 20 minutes.
  6. Fry in oil at 175°C / 350°F until golden (about 1 min per side).
  7. Mix glaze ingredients until smooth.
  8. Dip warm doughnuts into glaze. Let set.
