Very Wet Chocolate Cake

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups (250 g) all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup (75 g) cocoa powder
  • 2 cups (400 g) sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup (240 ml) milk
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) oil
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 cup (240 ml) hot coffee or hot water

Chocolate Syrup (for extra moisture):

  • 1 cup (240 ml) milk
  • 3 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 4 tbsp sugar
  • 2 tbsp butter

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C). Grease a 9×13-inch (23×33 cm) pan.
  2. Mix flour, cocoa, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Add eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla. Mix until smooth.
  4. Stir in hot coffee (batter will be thin).
  5. Pour into pan and bake 30–35 minutes.
  6. While cake is baking, heat milk, cocoa, sugar, and butter until smooth (do not boil).
  7. When cake comes out hot from the oven, poke holes all over with a fork.
  8. Pour warm chocolate syrup over the hot cake.
