Instructions
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the egg noodles according to the package instructions until tender. Drain and set aside.
While the noodles are cooking, melt the butter in a large pan over medium heat. Add the chopped cabbage and cook slowly, stirring occasionally. Let it soften and caramelize slightly; this step is key to building that deep, buttery flavor. It should take about 10–15 minutes until the cabbage becomes tender and lightly golden.
Once the cabbage is ready, add the cooked noodles directly into the pan. Toss everything together gently so the noodles are fully coated in the buttery cabbage mixture.
Season generously with salt and black pepper. Stir well and let it cook together for another 2–3 minutes so the flavors blend perfectly.
Tips
For extra richness, you can let the butter brown slightly before adding the cabbage, which gives the dish a deeper, nutty flavor. Do not rush the cabbage cooking process; slow cooking is what makes it soft and melt-in-your-mouth.
This dish is best served warm and fresh, but it also reheats beautifully, making it perfect for a simple, budget-friendly meal that still feels indulgent.
